Helping Kids With ADHDA Student23 Aug 2010schoolUnited StatesOne of my students loves to color everyday and all day, no matter if we are doing math, reading, etc. I've had to take his crayon box away several times, even though the first time I took it away I told him he couldn't have it back. Somehow he gets it back. Finally I had to send a note home to his parents and the next day he brought it back and was soooo good. I let him use his crayons for appropriate activities and then he'd remember to return them to my desk. He tried to behave all day and I could tell he was trying so hard to be good. It made me so happy! What a dear! These seven year old kids I teach are just precious!! They teach me things, too!

Two friendsLynette and Krista23 Aug 2010Family Home EveningUnited StatesTonight two friends encouraged me on a side project I am doing. We need moments like that — times when others cheer us on, believe in us, and say "Keep going" or "I like it". Those words may seem like little things, but they are what give us hope and show us God's tender mercy.

Precious momentsmy sonSummer 2010bedtimeUnited StatesThe other night I put my son down for bed> He came out several times asking for this or that and I kept sending him back to bed. Finally, the last time I send him to bed I went in with him and sat down by his bed. "Will you lay down with me please."Once he know I wasn't going to just leave he closed his eyes and started to drift off. Then he said, "What are you making mommy?"
I responded that I had been cutting up food and putting it away.
"Oh, that must be fun." another moment of silence. "Hold my hand mommy."
I took his hand and then he drifted to sleep moments later.

We may not be aware of how much they see but they see more then we think and let us know at the oddest time. As crazy as our days get and with all the people demanding our time, my son gave me a friendly reminder that my little ones want just a little extra more. Love you boys!

Her mom is an expert on the subject of ADHD and had her own school to help children with this condition. Talisha worked and the school and I'm sure is using her skills and experience helping these children. Way to use your knowledge to bless the lives of others! razz
